Heya, I don't make guides very often but I felt like making this one for some reason. I'm just basically gonna explain and list some methods of getting, obtaining, and making mabinogi gold.
Just to start off, mabinogi gold is the currency in this game, like it is in many games.
Mabinogi Gold is carried as item unlike many game where you can carry a huge amount (I.E. Maplestory can carry 2.1bil on a person). So a character is limited how much she or he can hold in their inventory. You may also store mabinogi gold in the bank.
A persons inventory is a 6x10, or basically 60 squares/units
0~1000 Gold = 1x1 Slots Money Bags, Hold 10k Mabinogi Gold = 2x2 Slots, purchasable from ????, Holds 50k Gold = ?x?Mabinogi Money Bags can be bought from NPC's:

Monsters One of the most basic ways of getting gold, just basically killing monsters, as you get more into the game, the monsters will drop more gold.
Monster Scrolls You basically get 10 monster scrolls from monsters and exchange them for gold, the amount of gold depends on the monsters, such as weaker will give less as stronger will give more. The exchange quest can be done by the NPC Duncan, the Chief of Tir and Eavan in Dunbarton Sqaure.
Dungeon Runs I find this the most efficient way of making gold at the moment. You basically do runs in dungeons. How does this make money? Well ill use Ciar Beginner Dungeon as a example since its very good for beginners.
Ciar Begginner Dungeon Passes can be first obtained by Ranald, who is located at the School of Tir Chonaill; its free so don't worry. Once you've obtain the pass, just head to Ciar dungeon by taking the Northeast route in Tir and follow it until you get there.
For Ciar Beginner Dungeon, you'll find many easy monsters but the gold drop isn't exactly high... to obtain a lot of gold, you pick up their Fomor Scrolls. You can find 5 (Goblin, Poison Golbin, Mimic, Gray Town Rat and Brown Town Rat) different Fomor Scrolls in Ciar Beginner. After you obtain 10, you can exchange them for a decent or large amount of gold. Most you can get from a set of 10 from Ciar Beginner is approximately 6k, which are Mimic Fomor Scrolls.
This is not the only method of making gold in Ciar Beginner either, after you finish, as in defeating Small Golem, you can open the chest that will provide some items and more gold ranging from about 800-1k approximately. Also, the Small Golem may drop gold as well ranging from about 400-800 gold.
You can just spam repeat this over and over since you can get multiple Ciar Beginner Passes and it doesn't really require much potion use except at Small Golem if you have trouble.
My recommendation is you solo Ciar Beginner one for more profit.
Part-time Jobs This is one of the easiest ways to get money if you rather not fight. You basically talk to a NPC, then click "start conversation" and click "Part-Time Job". You will be given a job from transporting items here and there, or making clothing, or obtaining items. After you've completed them, you return and are rewarded; there are multiple rewards for many part time jobs.
Also, to know when a job begins, there is usually a sign post near the NPC and if you move your cursor onto it, it will say the time the job can start.
Coleman's Dunbarton Money Run (Part Time Jobs)
NoteI: Not all NPC's provide Part-Time Jobs NoteII: When a Part-Time Job has been completed a certain amount of times, rewards will increase (50 times, 100 times)
Holy Water

This one is linked with Part-Time Jobs. Any Church NPC Part-Time Job you do, you will receive Holy Water. You can sell these for a nifty price, it may just be me but it isnt the easiest to find a buyer since theses are very easy to obtain.
Vending I find this the most difficult at the moment, you basically sell items you find or make to other players. You can make items multiple ways such as clothing from Tailoring, Armor from Blacksmithing, food from Cooking, and so on. Or selling items found like materials for life skills such as Herbs or Leather.
There is a vending system which allows you to set up a shop which requires a backpack and a permit, the backpack can be bought from General Shop NPC's and Permits are obtainable from Bank NPC's. This also requires Extra Storage (Cash Shop Function)
Quests This is a very easy way to make money, though it is very limited, in the beginning of the game, you are given many quests, and most provide gold. There are quests at higher level as well which will provide more gold. When you complete the quest, you will obtain gold.
Quest Reward Example:

Party Quests This is pretty much another quest but its a bit different, you can redo these as much as you want and require a party of 2 people. You also have to buy the scrolls to start, Duncan and Eavan sell them as well as a few other NPC's. When you complete the quest, you will obtain both EXP and Gold. When completed, the total EXP and Gold is split through the party. You may only have one party quest on at a time.
Gems You may notice that you find theses "small gems" and such from hitting objects and from monsters, well, you can trade these gems in for cash as well, I don't mean NPC'ing them. They still come at a very little price, or you can change 5 for a gem of a higher level, from what ive seen the highest gem is a small silver which 5 can be traded for 1.2k. I don't really recommend this method unless you find a lot of red or even silver gems.
Gem Exchange Chart: x5 = 5 EXP / x1
x5 = 10 EXP / x1 or 10 EXP / 20
x5 = 20 EXP / x1 or 20 EXP / 50
x5 = 50 EXP / x1 or 50 EXP / 200
x5 = 100 EXP / 1200
They can be exchanged from buying a scroll from the NPC Caitin and Nora of Tir Chonaill
Huge Lucky Shot/Finish This is one of the most awesome thing, but its totally by chance/luck, this can happen in both dungeon and field, you kill a monster and it drops a ton of gold in piles of 1k, its totally by chance though and you will obtain "The Lucky Guy/Girl" title if you do this as well.

There is also a normal Lucky Hit and Big Lucky Hit which does give you more than normal as well but not even close to Huge Lucky.
